Variegated Chain of Hearts with Pot

A pretty trailing plant with plenty of detail, Variegated Chain of Hearts features delicate heart-shaped leaves in shades of soft green, silver, cream and pink. The slender stems often have a pinkish-purple tint, with the lighter colouring becoming more pronounced in good light.

Its cascading growth makes it a lovely choice for a hanging planter, shelf or somewhere the trailing stems can be left to grow freely.

A Note on Size

The 9cm pot refers to the diameter of the pot, not the length of the trailing stems. Growth, fullness and leaf colouring will vary between plants.

Plant Care

Variegated Chain of Hearts loves a bright position. Good light helps maintain its beautiful cream and pink colouring, while too little light can cause the stems to become stretched and the variegation to fade. Avoid harsh afternoon sun, which can scorch the leaves.

This is a semi-succulent, so it stores water in its fleshy leaves and small tubers along the stems. Allow the soil to dry out between watering and avoid leaving it sitting in wet mix. A free-draining cactus and succulent mix is ideal.

You may notice small bead-like tubers developing along the stems. These can be used to propagate new plants, making it easy to grow your collection.
